Most American Workers Don’t Have College Degrees

(TriceEdneyWire.com) - Nearly two-thirds of American workers have not earned a four-year college degree and Mississippi leads the nation with the lowest percentage of college grads. On the other hand, Washington, D.C. and Massachusetts have the highest percentage of college grads.
The Economic Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, recently reported that 65.1 percent of the nation’s labor force does not have a college degree. Individuals without a high school diploma, with a high school diploma, some college and a two-year associate’s degree make up the majority of workers in every state except the District of Columbia and Massachusetts, Mississippi has the highest share of non-college educated workers at 75.7 percent.
Massachusetts and the District of Columbia have the lowest percentages of non-college educated workers. Some 51 percent of Massachusetts workers have college degrees and 33.7 percent of workers in the District of Columbia have graduated from a four-year college or university.
